Ingredients
- 2 slices of sturdy bread (sourdough or whole wheat)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons pizza sauce
- Your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, olives)
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and desired toppings.
- Top with the second slice of bread (buttered side out) and gently press down.
- Grill in the skillet for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and repeat until both sides are crispy and cheese is melted.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing in half and serve with extra pizza sauce.
