- 2 pounds russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and thinly slice russet potatoes (about 1/8 inch thick) for even cooking.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato slices. Season with salt and pepper, then drizzle half of the heavy cream over the top.
- Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top of the first layer. Repeat layering with remaining potatoes, seasoning, cream, and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
