- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups crushed soft pretzels
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Set up three bowls: one with beaten eggs seasoned with salt and pepper, another with crushed pretzels mixed with panko breadcrumbs, and the third empty for dipping.
- Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in the pretzel mixture.
- Place coated chicken on the baking sheet, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- For the sauce, warm whole milk in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in Dijon mustard and cheese until melted. Add garlic powder and cayenne if desired.
- Serve chicken drizzled with sauce or on the side.
