- 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
- 4 hoagie rolls or crusty baguettes
- 1 cup au jus (homemade or store-bought)
- 4 slices Swiss or provolone cheese
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp horseradish sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and warm the rolls for added crunch.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onions until golden brown (about 15 minutes).
- In another skillet, gently heat the roast beef over low heat for approximately 5 minutes.
- Place cheese slices on top of the warm roast beef until melted (about 2 minutes).
- Assemble each sandwich with roast beef, melted cheese, sautéed onions, and a drizzle of horseradish sauce in the warmed rolls.
- Serve with au jus on the side for dipping.
