- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 14 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Chop bell peppers, slice onions, and mince garlic.
- Cook the sausage: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
- Sauté vegetables: Add onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Cook until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Add garlic & tomatoes: Stir in minced garlic for about 30 seconds before adding crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine pasta & sauce: Cook penne according to package instructions. Drain and mix with the skillet ingredients.
- Serve: Plate the pasta and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
