- 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 cups bread cubes (stale preferred)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup bell peppers, diced (red or green)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbly. Add chopped onions and bell peppers; sauté until softened.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until frothy.
- Fold in the cooked sausage mixture and bread cubes until well-coated.
- Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and set in the center.
- Let cool slightly before slicing into squares and serving warm.
