- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 soft sandwich buns (brioche or whole grain)
- Coleslaw (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in a slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic on top of the chicken.
- Pour BBQ sauce over the chicken until well-coated. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks directly in the slow cooker and mix with juices.
- Assemble sandwiches by filling buns with shredded chicken and adding coleslaw if desired.
