Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 soft flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup diced ripe tomatoes
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- ½ cup salsa (your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and tools: mixing bowl, spatula, skillet, or griddle.
- In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into four loose balls (about ¼ lb each) and set aside on parchment paper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with cooking oil until shimmering. Place patties in the skillet and press down firmly with a spatula until they're about ½ inch thick.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top and cover briefly to melt.
- Warm tortillas on another skillet for about 30 seconds per side until soft.
- Assemble tacos by layering shredded lettuce on each tortilla, followed by smashed burger patties topped with melted cheese, diced tomatoes, and salsa.
