Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak
- 6 fresh dates, pitted and chopped
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix chopped dates, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and lime juice until well combined.
- Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is evenly coated. Seal or cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for enhanced flavor).
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Clean the grates and lightly oil them.
- Remove the steak from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill for 6-8 minutes per side until desired doneness is achieved.
- Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
