- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- 2 hoagie rolls or baguettes
- 1 cup provolone or cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 cup bell peppers (mix of red and green), sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for marinade + sautéing)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
- 2. In a bowl, mix 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add steak strips and marinate for 15 minutes.
- 3. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers; sauté until softened (5-7 minutes).
- 4. Increase heat to high; add marinated steak to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned but still juicy.
- 5. Slice open hoagie rolls; layer sautéed veggies followed by steak and cheese.
- 6. Place sandwiches under a low broiler until cheese is melted and bubbly.
