- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with sugar and set aside to macerate.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add softened butter and milk to dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Whip heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Slice the cooled cake in half horizontally. Layer one half with sugared strawberries and whipped cream, top with the other half, and repeat layering.
