Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef and pork mixture
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef and pork with breadcrumbs. Mix in finely chopped onion and egg until well combined. Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice.
- Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a lined baking tray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides (approximately 8-10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt more butter. Whisk in flour until golden brown, then gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
- Once thickened slightly, remove from heat and stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Return meatballs to the skillet, gently coat with sauce, and let simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
- Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
