Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese (whole milk)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain fat and add marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, half of the Parmesan, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread some meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer with noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and shredded mozzarella. Repeat layers twice more.
  5. Finish with remaining meat sauce topped with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
