- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 8 flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1 cup salsa
- ½ cup sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with taco seasoning.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from heat, let rest for a few minutes, then shred the chicken using two forks.
- Warm tortillas in a pan or microwave until soft.
- Assemble tacos by adding shredded chicken to each tortilla and topping with cilantro, avocado, cheese, and salsa. Drizzle with lime juice and add sour cream if desired.
- Serve immediately while warm.
