  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh or thawed shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/3 cup pure honey
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients by peeling and deveining the shrimp if necessary. Squeeze fresh orange juice until you have about half a cup.
  2. In a bowl, mix honey, orange juice, minced garlic, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook until pink and opaque (about 2-3 minutes per side). Remove from the skillet.
  4. Pour the honey-orange mixture into the same skillet; let it bubble for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Return cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing gently in the glaze for an additional minute.
  6. Serve immediately over steamed rice or vegetables, garnished with sliced green onions.
