Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh or thawed shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/3 cup pure honey
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients by peeling and deveining the shrimp if necessary. Squeeze fresh orange juice until you have about half a cup.
- In a bowl, mix honey, orange juice, minced garlic, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook until pink and opaque (about 2-3 minutes per side). Remove from the skillet.
- Pour the honey-orange mixture into the same skillet; let it bubble for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Return cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing gently in the glaze for an additional minute.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice or vegetables, garnished with sliced green onions.
