- 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
 - 4 cups filtered water
 - ½ cup sweetener (sugar or honey)
 - ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice
 - Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
 
Instructions
- Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a medium saucepan.
 - Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers. Steep for 15 minutes.
 - Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve, discarding the flowers.
 - While still warm, stir in your preferred sweetener until dissolved.
 - Add ¼ cup of fresh lemon or lime juice to elevate the flavor; adjust sweetness if desired.
 - Chill by pouring into a pitcher filled with ice or refrigerate until cold.
 - Serve over ice, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired.
