  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onion until translucent; add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs until combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  5. Spread additional ketchup on top for glazing.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
