- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onion until translucent; add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs until combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- Spread additional ketchup on top for glazing.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
