- 4 bone-in chicken thighs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup BBQ or teriyaki sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry chicken thighs; season generously with salt and pepper.
- Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat until translucent.
- Transfer sautéed onions and garlic to the slow cooker; add seasoned chicken thighs.
- In a bowl, mix chicken broth, sauce, paprika, thyme, and brown sugar; pour over chicken.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender and shreds easily.
- Serve over rice or alongside roasted vegetables, drizzling sauce on top.
