- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Sauté diced onions for about 5 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano; stir for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes with their juices and broth; bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in sugar, salt, and pepper; let simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- If desired, blend until smooth using an immersion blender or regular blender.
