- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 4 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat.
- In a bowl, whisk together milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth.
- In an oven-safe baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the creamy mixture and half of the sautéed beef. Sprinkle cheese on top; repeat layers.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
