Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least one hour to enhance tenderness.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the coating.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering (about 350°F).
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coat.
- Fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F).
- Transfer cooked chicken to paper towels to drain excess oil before serving hot.
