- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 brioche or whole wheat buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and pickles (to taste)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
- 2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- 3. Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- 4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering (about 350°F).
- 5. Fry the chicken for 6–8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6. Assemble sandwiches by placing fried chicken on toasted buns and adding desired toppings.
