- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
- 1 cup warm water (100°F)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (whole milk)
- 1 cup pasta sauce (jarred or homemade)
- Toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, etc.) as desired
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast until frothy. Add flour, olive oil, and salt; combine into a sticky dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Grease a deep-dish pizza pan with olive oil.
- Roll out the risen dough into a large circle and press it into the bottom and sides of the pan.
- Layer mozzarella evenly across the bottom, add desired toppings, then spoon pasta sauce generously over everything.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
