- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight for maximum tenderness.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk and let excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken pieces for about 12-15 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
