- 2 slices sourdough or classic white bread
- 2 oz cheddar cheese (or any good melting cheese)
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- Optional add-ins: sliced tomatoes, crispy bacon, or avocado
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice butter-side down in the skillet. Layer cheese and optional add-ins on top.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Grill until golden brown (3-5 minutes), then carefully flip and grill the other side until crispy and cheese is melted.
- Slice diagonally and serve hot, optionally with tomato soup.
