Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter until creamy; add sugar gradually until light and fluffy.
- Mix in eggs one at a time and add vanilla until smooth.
- Alternately combine dry ingredients with milk until just mixed.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden; cool completely.
- Toss sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit for 15 minutes.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble by layering cake, strawberries, and whipped cream; serve immediately.
