Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: Place chicken breasts in a bowl, pour buttermilk over them, and soak for at least 1 hour (overnight for best results).
- Prepare the coating: In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Dredge the chicken: Remove each piece from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil: In a skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken: Cook chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
- Drain and serve: Let the chicken rest on paper towels before serving.
