  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (canola or peanut)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and pat dry.
  2. In a bowl, mix garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and orange juice. Marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, and remaining orange juice for the sauce.
  4. Coat marinated chicken pieces in cornstarch.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden brown (5-7 minutes). Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  6. Add fried chicken back to the skillet with the sauce; stir to coat and heat through (2-3 minutes).
  7. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
