Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup coconut flakes
- 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup whole milk
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar and cocoa powder until blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks, milk, and vanilla extract.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the dry ingredients until bubbling.
- Gradually add the egg mixture while stirring continuously until thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and fold in coconut flakes and chopped pecans. Cool for about 10 minutes before spreading.
