Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch mixture, and a dash of sesame oil. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Sauté garlic and broccoli: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic until fragrant, then add broccoli. Cook until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Cook the beef: Push broccoli aside in the skillet and add marinated beef. Stir-fry until browned and cooked through (about 3-4 minutes).
- Create the sauce: In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce with water or broth along with any leftover marinade from the beef. Pour into the skillet around the meat.
- Thicken the sauce: Allow to simmer until thickened slightly, stirring continuously to coat everything evenly.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
