Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh fruit (e.g., strawberries, blueberries)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 pouch (1.75 oz) pectin
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by gathering all ingredients and sterilizing jars.
- Wash and chop the fruit into small pieces, removing any bruises.
- In a large pot, combine chopped fruit, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well and let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
- Sprinkle pectin over the mixture while stirring continuously. Heat over medium-high until boiling vigorously (about 10 minutes).
- Perform the 'wrinkle test' on a cold plate to check for doneness; if it holds its shape, it's ready.
- Ladle hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving half an inch of headspace. Seal tightly and cool completely before storage.
