- 1 cup sourdough starter (active)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¼ cups warm water (100°F to 110°F)
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup diced fresh or pickled jalapeños
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter and warm water until smooth. Gradually add flour to form a shaggy dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Fold in the cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños evenly throughout the dough.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf on a floured surface and allow it to rest while preheating your oven to 450°F.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches around 200°F.
