- 1 ripe banana (about 100g)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (125g)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg (at room temperature)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (60g)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (75g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe banana in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla; stir until blended.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently until combined. Avoid overmixing.
- If desired, add nuts or chocolate chips and fold in gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
