- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese (drained)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup fresh basil (chopped)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes. Drain fat and mix in marinara sauce.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and half of the chopped basil.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Layer three lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layering: noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, mozzarella. Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce and generous mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
