Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 medium ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well until combined.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. If using, fold in the chopped walnuts.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding chocolate chips or cinnamon to the batter.
