Ingredients

Marinade
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak
Toppings
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 cup tomato diced
  • 1 cup avocado sliced
  • 1 cup lime wedges

Method

Marinate the Steak
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Grill the Steak
  1. Preheat the grill to high heat.
  2. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  3. Grill the steak for about 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
  4. Remove from the grill and let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Serve
  1. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. Serve with chopped cilantro, diced onion, diced tomato, sliced avocado, and lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeños to the toppings or serving with corn tortillas.
