  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Mixing
  1. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding nuts or using different types of chocolate chips.
