Method
Cooking the Rice
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
Flavoring the Rice
- Fluff the rice with a fork and add lime juice, olive oil, salt, and chopped cilantro.
- Gently mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
For added flavor, you can also include a pinch of garlic powder or diced jalapeños for a spicy kick.
