Ingredients
  

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies such as Oreos

Method
 

Prepare the Ice Cream Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Add Cookies
  1. During the last few minutes of churning, add the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies to the ice cream maker.
Freeze the Ice Cream
  1. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can use half-and-half instead of whole milk. Make sure to crush the cookies into small pieces for even distribution.
