Prepare the Ice Cream Base
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream
- Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Add Cookies
- During the last few minutes of churning, add the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies to the ice cream maker.
Freeze the Ice Cream
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can use half-and-half instead of whole milk. Make sure to crush the cookies into small pieces for even distribution.
