Ingredients
  

Tortilla Dough
  • 2 cups masa harina corn flour
  • 1 cup warm water adjust as needed
  • 1 teaspoon salt optional

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina and salt.
  2. Gradually add warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth and pliable.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Cook the Tortillas
  1. Divide the dough into 8 equal balls.
  2. Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Using a tortilla press or rolling pin, flatten each ball into a thin circle.
  4. Cook each tortilla in the skillet for about 1 minute on each side, until lightly browned.
  5. Keep cooked tortillas warm in a clean kitchen towel.

Notes

Serve warm with your favorite fillings or toppings. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
