  • 4 cups fresh peaches sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Mix well and set aside.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  2. Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the topping mixture over the peaches.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
  4. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
