Ingredients
  

Shrimp and Coating
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
Honey Sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
Candied Walnuts
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

Prepare the Candied Walnuts
  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Add walnuts and stir to coat. Continue boiling for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and spread walnuts on a baking sheet to cool.
Prepare the Shrimp
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch and flour. Dip shrimp in the beaten egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry shrimp in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove shrimp and drain on paper towels.
Make the Honey Sauce
  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, mayonnaise, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon juice until smooth.
Combine and Serve
  1. In a large bowl, combine fried shrimp with the honey sauce and toss to coat.
  2. Top with candied walnuts and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the shrimp coating mixture.
