Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Sauce and Seasoning
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
Cheese and Buns
  • 1 cup provolone cheese shredded
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns toasted

Method
 

Cook the Meat and Vegetables
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Assemble the Sloppy Joes
  1. Spoon the meat mixture onto the toasted hamburger buns.
  2. Top each with shredded provolone cheese and let it melt slightly before serving.
